It's impressive how bad this season is

There's some adaptations where I liked the source material like watari kun and Ron Paul will eventually read kingdom when peko starts to rant about the new season.

I thought kingdom was Chinese slop

Kingdom is Japanese slop about the first emperor of China.
And it takes a bunch of fictional numbers from the annals of the grand historian written 100-200 years later (Chinese history has a lot of propaganda and revisionism for 3000 years of political bullshit) seriously because they're the closest thing to a primary source for a lot of this shit so it's a constant of 1-2 million man armies with death tolls in the hundreds of thousands that were completely logistically, agriculturally, and technologically impossible at the time but they sure are cool.

And then peko says do don ga don don peko chan and the duck makes fun of her so much she gives up on her cool new call-and-respond catch phrase based on it and everyone laughs at the dumb autist bunny girl.

So it's basically just Juuni Kokki but worse?

Not at all, it keeps Chinese shit at the wayside, it's almost entirely just hyping up the new bad guy general and then throwing thousands of chinks into normandy-tier meat grinders.
The main character is a soldier that happens to have the favor of the prince raising through military ranks and there's only a few small mini arcs dealing with assassination and court shit.
